My name is Jan Acorn, owner of Gateway Destinations. Travel has certainly broadened my outlook on the world and sparked my imagination! Being a natural planner for friends and family travel over the years, I found that I loved creating and sharing travel experiences, so much so that it spawned my career in travel! When designing a personal vacation that is tailored specifically for you and your fellow travelers, my utmost priority is creating an extraordinary and seamless experience and make every vacation truly memorable. Although I specialize in planning custom itineraries to Europe for busy professionals, honeymooners and active retirees, I am well-versed in all international destinations as well as Alaska and Hawaii.

Staying abreast of destinations and the latest in travel is important to me which is why I achieved my Certified Travel Associate and Signature Travel Expert designations. These credentials require that I have years of travel industry experience, completed rigorous certification and testing, and continue to fulfill stringent education credit requirements on an ongoing basis. I also regularly attend travel trade shows and take advantage of other training offered by suppliers, industry organizations and tourism boards to better serve my clients. And, of course, I travel extensively to gain first-hand knowledge. Recognized as a leading travel advisor by Signature Travel, I was selected to participate in Trip Advisor’s travel advisor platform, HelloReco, a Travel Expert for Italy and France. My affiliation with Signature as an independent travel advisor affords me access to numerous reputable and premium resources that provide a collective wealth of competitive travel options for all areas of the globe.

Hi there, I am Christina! Besides my family and horses, my next love is Travel! My background is in Anthropology and spent much of my younger years doing field work in Costa Rica, Thailand, Malaysia, and China. Like most of you, I backpacked through all of Europe and have familial connections to Scotland and the UK.

I specialize in family and group travel. My goal is to help you find the perfect fit for your family’s or group’s travel needs. Whether it is spending quality time together, planning the trip of a lifetime, discovering ancestral origins, or delving deeper into personal passions or hobbies through travel, that’s in my wheel-house!

I get really excited for our clients when I learn about new destinations, and unique ways to travel around the world. I’m always on the hunt for authentic experiences and excursions as well. As a member of “Tourism Cares“, I am personally invested in meaningful travel that promotes positive, impactful, and sustainable itineraries.
